Additional Information: Scarlet Sage is a long-blooming native wildflower known for its brilliant red tubular flowers, although naturally occurring plants can occasionally produce pink or lighter-colored blooms. The flowers are especially attractive to hummingbirds and also provide nectar for other pollinators. In Oklahoma, Scarlet Sage is generally best treated as an annual or short-lived perennial, but it readily self-seeds in favorable conditions and can return year after year without becoming difficult to manage. Its exceptional heat tolerance and long flowering season make it an excellent choice for sunny pollinator gardens, hummingbird gardens and even containers.
