Additional Information: Blue Cardinal Flower produces striking spikes of deep blue to violet-blue tubular flowers that provide welcome color in late summer when many earlier-blooming plants are beginning to fade. The flowers are especially attractive to bumblebees and hummingbirds, which are well suited to accessing their tubular blooms. Blue Cardinal Flower naturally occurs in moist prairies, woodland edges, streambanks, and other areas with dependable moisture, making it an excellent choice for rain gardens, moist pollinator gardens, and low areas of the landscape. It can gradually self-seed under favorable conditions and pairs beautifully with other moisture-loving Oklahoma natives.
