Additional Information:
Spring Beauty is one of the earliest wildflowers to bloom in Oklahoma, often appearing before most other plants have begun to grow. This small woodland wildflower emerges in early spring, blooms, then goes dormant by early summer, making it a classic spring ephemeral. It grows well in woodland gardens, shaded lawns, and naturalized areas, where it can gradually form beautiful patches over time. Because it blooms so early in the season, Spring Beauty provides an important early nectar source for native bees that emerge in spring. Its short seasonal presence allows it to thrive beneath trees without competing with later-growing plants.
